This branch of Grofers India Pvt Ltd is out at 37, Adambakkam Village in Keelameni. It is a bit further out than some of our other spots, which means it is a lot quieter around here. The building is a large warehouse style space because we have to store a lot of different items before they go out. Inside, it is all rows of metal shelves and people moving around with clipboards or scanners. It is not really a place where customers come to shop in person, so we don't worry much about how the front looks. We are more focused on the trucks coming in and out of the yard. Keelameni is still quite green and feels like a village, so it is a bit of a contrast to have a big operation like this right in the middle of it. The staff mostly comes from the nearby areas, so there is a lot of local talk during the lunch breaks. We spend most of our shift just making sure the right boxes get to the right place. It gets dusty, and the floors are concrete, so it's not exactly a cozy office. But it's where we work. We have a small area for the drivers to sit while they wait for their loads, and there's usually a stray dog or two hanging around the gate. It's just a functional place where we get the job done without any fuss or extra decoration.
