We run the Floor Mill over on Narasimma Sannathi Street, at No 31/1. If you live around here, you probably know the sound of the machines running during the day. It’s a bit of an older building, but it does the job. We have been here for years, processing what the locals bring in. The place is usually covered in a fine layer of dust, which is just part of the work we do. It’s not a place for fancy clothes. We wear our work boots and get to it every morning. The street is narrow, so it can be a bit of a squeeze when people come by with their bags. We have a regular crowd that comes through. Some have been coming to us since they were kids. We don't have a website or anything like that. We just have our doors open at No 31/1. The equipment is loud and it takes some maintenance to keep it all going, but we manage. It is honest work and it keeps us busy from dawn till dusk. Sometimes we stand out front for a bit of air when the machines are cooling down. You won't find any posters or big slogans here. Just the mill and the people who run it. We like being a part of Narasimma Sannathi Street. It feels like we are part of the history of the neighborhood. We hope to stay here as long as people still need their grain ground.
