It is a neighborhood that feels mostly residential, but there are plenty of small businesses like ours tucked away on these side streets. We deal with various instruments, which involves a lot of sitting still and being careful with small parts. Occasionally, it gets a bit frustrating when things do not calibrate correctly on the first try. The workshop is small, and we have to be careful not to trip over the shipping crates that always seem to be sitting in the hallway. It is definitely not a shiny corporate office. There is usually some dust on the shelves and someone is always asking if anyone has seen the small screwdriver. We have been in this area for a good while, so we know most of the neighbors and the local shopkeepers. It is a friendly street to be on. Sometimes we eat our lunch out on the steps if the weather is not too humid. We do not spend any money on fancy ads. Most of our customers find us because someone they know told them we do a decent job. We keep things simple here. There is no big boss in a fancy suit; we all just jump in and help whenever a new shipment arrives at the door.
