Dhanush Rice Shop

Dhanush Rice Shop is located right on Kasthuri Bai Avenue, specifically on 2nd Street in Thiruverkadu. It’s a small place but we keep a lot of bags of rice stacked up. If you walk down the street, you can usually smell the grain. It’s a bit dusty, honestly, but that’s how a rice shop usually is. We have different kinds of rice coming in and out all day. People from around the neighborhood stop by to get what they need for their kitchens. We know most of our customers by name because they have been coming to Thiruverkadu for years. It isn’t a fancy supermarket. We just have the bags and the scale. Sometimes the 2nd Street gets a bit crowded with scooters and delivery carts. We just move things along. We’ve been here at number 43 for a while now. My hands are usually covered in a bit of white powder from moving the sacks around. We don't have a big staff, just a few of us who know how to handle the heavy lifting. We don't spend money on big signs or anything. People know where the rice shop is. We just try to keep the stock full so nobody goes home without their bag. It is a simple life here on Kasthuri Bai Avenue. We open early and close when the sun goes down, mostly. Just a local shop for local people. That is how we have always done it.
