Deepa Driving School

Running a place like Deepa Driving School here on Redhills High Road keeps us on our toes from morning until the sun goes down. We are located at No. 128, right in the Vinayagapuram part of Kolathur. If you know Chennai, you know how the traffic gets around here, especially during those rush hours when everyone is trying to get somewhere at once. Our little office is usually filled with the sound of the main road outside. We have a few desks where we handle the forms and help people figure out their paperwork. It’s a lot of back and forth with the local authorities. The chairs in the waiting area are a bit worn out from all the students sitting there waiting for their turn behind the wheel. We keep a fan going constantly because the heat in Chennai doesn't really let up much. Most of our day is spent talking to nervous people who are just starting to learn how to handle a car in this city’s mess. We don't try to make the place look like some corporate headquarters because that isn't what we are about. It’s just a practical space where we teach a skill people actually need. Sometimes the neighbors come by to chat while we’re finishing up for the day. It’s a busy life, but it’s what we do here in Kolathur, day in and day out, making sure the cars are ready and the logs are updated.
