Component Ltd

You can find us over at 451A Sarayu Apartments, which is right by the Railway Quarters on Pilkington Road in Chennai-23. We’ve been running Component Ltd from this location for several years now. Since we are based in an apartment building, it’s not your typical large-scale warehouse. We have a few rooms set up to keep our inventory of small parts and components. It’s a bit of a squeeze sometimes when a big shipment comes in, but we make it work. Most of our day involves checking orders and talking to suppliers on the phone. The traffic on Pilkington Road can be a nightmare during rush hour, so we usually plan our deliveries for the middle of the day. It’s a small team here, just a couple of us handling everything from the mail to the heavy lifting. We don’t have any fancy receptionists or a big lobby. People usually just knock on the door and we help them out with whatever they need. The humidity in Chennai can be tough, especially when we’re moving boxes around, but we have a couple of fans going to keep the air moving. We aren't doing any big advertising or anything like that. We just focus on keeping our stock levels right and making sure the local shops get what they ordered. It’s an honest way to make a living and we like being in this part of the city.
