Chennai Fresh

Chennai Fresh is our small shop in Old Washermanpet. We are located at number 19 on Munusamy 3rd Street. It is quite near Dhanalakshmi School, so we see a lot of parents and kids passing by every day. We mainly deal with fresh things that people need for their daily meals. The area is quite old and has its own charm. Our shop isn't very large, but we try to keep it clean and filled with items. Most days start with us getting everything ready before the sun gets too hot. We have the usual items like vegetables and some basic provisions. It gets really busy in the mornings when everyone is rushing for their day. We just stand behind the counter and help people find what they are looking for. There’s no big fancy signs or anything. Just a simple board outside. Sometimes the rain makes the street a bit messy, but customers still come in. We’ve known some of these families for years. It’s a lot of manual work, checking the produce and making sure everything looks okay. We don’t have a website or anything like that, just this physical shop where people can come and see what they are buying. It feels good to be a part of the Old Washermanpet community. We just keep things moving one day at a time, keeping the shutters open for the regulars.
