Chennai Book Centre

We are located over at 62 A, Pillaiyar Koil Street, right in the Potheri area. Most people find us just by walking down the street and seeing the books piled up near the front. It’s a small place, honestly. We don’t have much room for anything other than the shelves and a small corner for me to sit. The street outside can get really noisy with all the motorbikes and people going to the temple nearby. Potheri is a busy place, especially with the students from the college always around. We’ve been here for quite some time now, and the shop has its quirks. The ceiling fan has a bit of a wobble to it, and the floor is a little uneven in the back. We don't bother with fancy displays or bright lights. It’s just books. We have some old novels that have been here for years and some newer textbooks that students need. Sometimes the dust gets on the covers, so we have to wipe them down every morning. It’s not a corporate store. It’s just us. I usually spend the afternoon sorting through new arrivals or helping someone find a specific title they saw online. We don’t have a fancy computer system to track everything. We just know where things are by looking. It’s a simple way of doing business, but it works for us. The rain sometimes leaks a tiny bit near the door, so we keep an eye on that. Just a local shop on a busy street. It is what it is.
