My office is located at 60 Godown Street on the first floor. This is in the 600001 zip code area of Chennai, which is famous for the wholesale markets. Godown Street is legendary for textiles and cloth, so it's always packed with bundles of fabric and people carrying heavy loads. To get to me, you have to head up to the first floor. The building is old, like most of them on this street. The stairs are a bit steep and narrow. Once you’re inside, it’s a bit of a relief from the heat and the chaos of the street below. The office isn't very big. It’s mostly just enough room for a desk, some chairs, and a lot of files. I’ve been here for a long time, and I’ve seen the street change quite a bit, though it’s always stayed busy. The sounds of the market are part of the daily routine. You hear the carts rattling on the road and people bargaining all day. It’s a very busy atmosphere. I don't have a big team or anything, just a small operation. It’s a very basic setup, nothing fancy at all. I just come in, do my work, and watch the world go by on Godown Street. It’s an honest place to earn a living. Sometimes I get lunch from one of the small messes nearby, which keeps me going until evening. It's a crowded life, but it's home for me. I usually lock up by six and head home.
