Arunachalam Karikala Rice

Our place is located at number 23 on 1St Main Road in T Nagar. This building has been our home for many years and it shows its age a bit. Arunachalam Karikala Rice is mostly about getting decent grain to the families living around here. We do not spend any money on shiny signs or big advertisements because word of mouth works better for us. The bags of rice are just stacked up in the back room and that is the whole view. Some days the dust from the sacks gets everywhere, but we try to sweep it up when we can. It is a family-run thing. My uncle was the one who started it, and I took over the daily tasks when he decided he wanted to rest. We do not have a huge team, just a couple of us working the floor. If you come by in the morning, you might have to wait a few minutes if we are busy unloading a new shipment. The traffic on 1St Main Road can be a real headache during the rush hour. We usually open the doors very early before the sun gets too high and the air gets hot. It stays a bit cooler inside because of the high ceilings. We sell whatever the farmers have ready at the time. There is no fancy packaging, just plain bags. It is a basic shop for basic needs.
