We have our little spot at Doshi Garden on Arcot Road. It’s been here for quite a while now, and we’ve gotten used to the constant noise of the traffic outside. Most days are spent looking at computer screens, trying to find the right bus or train for people who walk in. It’s not a big fancy office with air conditioning that always works, but it gets the job done. We just help folks get their tickets and figure out their travel plans. Sometimes the schedules change without much warning, and we have to spend hours on the phone trying to fix things. It’s a bit of a headache, but that’s just the travel business. We aren't doing anything world-changing here; we’re just making sure you can get to where you need to go. People from around Arcot Road come in mostly by word of mouth. We don't bother with big ads or anything like that. We have a few desks, some old chairs for people to wait in, and a lot of paper everywhere. Arcot Road is always busy, so there’s a lot of dust that comes in, which we’re always cleaning. We open early because that’s when people want to start their trips. It’s a simple life, and we know our regulars. If you need a taxi or a hotel, we check our lists and see what we can find. It’s just us working day by day.
