Annam Fab Tech

Our workshop is at No 123 on Padur Main Road, over in the Irulapalayam area near Kuthambakkam. It’s a bit of a drive out to Poonthamall Taluk, but we like being out here where there’s a bit more space for the fabrication work. The sound of metal hitting metal is pretty much the soundtrack to our days. We have a large open area where the main work happens, and then a small shack-like office where we keep the records. It gets pretty hot under the tin roof during the summer months, but we have a few big fans that help a bit. Most of the guys here are from the local villages, so there’s always a lot of local talk during the breaks. We don't have any fancy signage or a polished front desk; you usually just find us by the stacks of raw materials out front. Padur Main Road can get quite dusty with all the construction going on nearby, but that’s just how it is in this part of town. We spend our time measuring, cutting, and putting things together according to whatever the current job requires. It’s physical work that leaves you tired by the end of the shift, but there’s a certain satisfaction in seeing something built from scratch. We usually wrap up as the sun starts to go down, clearing away the scraps and locking up the gate for the night.
