Anjana Foods

Anjana Foods is situated at 29A, Kennedy Valley on Voc Street. This part of Moovarasempet in Madipakkam is mostly houses, so we try to keep things relatively quiet during the day. We work out of a small space that used to be something else before we moved in a few years back. There are lots of trees around here, which is nice when we take our breaks outside. We prepare food items, so the kitchen area is the biggest part of the building. It gets quite hot when all the burners are going at once in the morning. We don't have a big marketing team or anything like that. Usually, it is just one or two of us answering the phone and writing down orders in a spiral notebook. The floors are tiled and we spend a lot of time mopping them to keep things clean. Sometimes the delivery scooters have a hard time finding Voc Street because the turns are a bit tight in this neighborhood. We know the neighbors by name, and they sometimes complain if we leave the front gate open too wide. It is a very local operation. We don’t use any complicated systems, just old-fashioned cooking and packing. The shelves are filled with jars and packets ready to go to the local shops. It feels more like a home kitchen than a business most days of the week.
