Ambe Computers

Ambe Computers is tucked away in Majestic Plazza on Narasingapuram Street. If you know Mount Road, you know how hectic this part of town gets with everyone looking for electronics and computer bits. We are in units 7 and 8, which isn't a huge space but we make it work with all the towers and screens we have stacked up inside. It gets a bit cramped when a few customers come in at once and start asking questions. We spend most of our time staring at motherboards or trying to figure out why a laptop won't boot up anymore. There is usually a pile of old cables in the corner that we mean to sort out but never quite get around to doing. People come to us when they need a specific part or if their home computer is acting up and they don't know why. We aren't big on fancy displays or polished sales pitches. Mostly, we just talk about RAM or hard drives and try to find a solution that fits what they need. It’s a lot of sitting under bright lights and clicking away at keyboards. Some days the phones don't stop ringing and other days we just wait for the next person to walk through the door of the plaza. We’ve been in this spot long enough to see the technology change every few months, but the way we run things stays pretty much the same. Sometimes the elevator in the plaza is slow so we just take the stairs. It’s a small shop life but it keeps us busy.
