Our place is on Kovalan Muth Gramini Street in Periamet. It is a bit of a maze if you are not from around here. Periamet is famous for its leather trade and the busy markets, so it is always crowded. We are at number 7. There was a bit of a mix-up with the phone number listed in some old books, so if you tried calling a wrong number before, that happens more than you would think. The building is quite old, like most things in this part of Chennai. It is not the kind of place with a big shiny lobby. You just walk in and find us. The air here usually smells a bit like leather and street food from the vendors down the lane. It is a very lived-in area. We do our work among stacks of paper and the sound of horns honking outside. It gets really hot in the afternoons, but we have some good fans that keep things moving. We do not really have a fancy story to tell. We are just here doing our job every day. Most of our visitors are regulars who have been coming to this street for years. If you are looking for the 600007 area, you probably know how tight the streets are. We like the energy of the place, even if it is a bit chaotic sometimes. It feels like the heart of the old city and we are happy to stay right here.
