Amal Vats

Amal Vats is based out of Alagappa University in the Chennaipouran area. Being around a university means there is always something going on. It’s a lot of walking back and forth between different buildings. The air in Chennai is always thick and salty because of the coast. We don't have a proper standalone office with a big sign. It’s more of a spot within the university grounds where we handle our things. Students are always rushing past the windows. It’s a bit loud during the day, especially when classes are letting out. We have some old wooden desks and a lot of books that haven't been touched in years. The lighting isn't the best in the evenings. We spend a lot of time just sitting and going through papers or checking things on the computer. It’s a very academic environment, which suits what we do. Sometimes the fans make a clicking sound that gets annoying after a few hours. We usually eat lunch at one of the small stalls nearby. It’s not a glamorous setup by any means. Just a functional space in a big institution. We’ve gotten used to the rhythm of the campus life. It's a bit messy and disorganized at times, but we manage to stay on top of the work somehow without making a big fuss about it.
