Dhamodharan Street is one of those places where you really have to watch your step because the sidewalk is always uneven. Our office is right there at number 28 in Thyagaraya Nagar, tucked away among all the other shops and houses. Inside, it’s mostly just desks, a few old computers, and a lot of papers scattered around. We spend a lot of time on the phone or looking at screens trying to figure out flight paths and train timings for people who come in. It gets quite loud when the market nearby is in full swing, but we are used to the noise. There’s a small water dispenser in the corner that makes a glugging sound every now and then, and the chairs aren't the most comfortable, but they work for a quick chat about a trip. Most days involve a lot of checking and re-checking dates because things change so fast in the travel world. We’ve got some posters on the wall that have been there for years and are starting to curl at the edges. When the power goes out, we just open the door to let some light in and wait for it to come back on. People from the neighborhood drop by to ask about ticket prices or just to see if we can help with a passport form. It’s a busy little spot and we just try to keep up with the daily rush of T. Nagar.
