Aadhi Provisions Store

Down on Palavakkam Main Road, specifically at No: 3/791, you’ll find Aadhi Provisions Store. It’s a small place, but we try to keep it stocked with the basics that everyone needs daily. From the outside, it looks like any other neighborhood shop, and that’s pretty much what it is. We open up quite early so the people catching the bus can grab what they need before work. The traffic on the main road can be pretty loud, but inside the store, it’s mostly just the sound of the refrigerator humming. We’ve got bags of pulses, soaps, and snacks crammed into every corner. Sometimes it’s hard to move around if we have more than three customers at once. We don't have fancy scanners or a computer system that works all the time. Most of the math is done on a pad of paper or a small calculator we keep by the till. We’ve known some of our customers since they were kids, and now they bring their own children in. It’s that kind of place. We don't go for big sales or loud posters in the window. We just keep the lights on and make sure there’s enough milk and bread for the morning rush. When it rains, the water sometimes pools near the entrance, so we keep a mop handy. It’s not a glamorous life, but we like being right here on the road in Palavakkam, seeing the world go by.
