We are located in Aheri, down in the Gadchiroli district. Our office is at Parshuram Dahgaokar’s place, House Number 1, right at Ambedkar Chowk. Gadchiroli is a bit different from the rest of Maharashtra, with a lot of forest and a slower pace of life. We focus on agro projects and marketing, trying to get things moving for the local producers here. The office is right in the middle of things at the chowk, so it’s easy for people to find us when they come into town. It’s a modest space, just a regular house converted into a work area. We spend our time working on different development projects and figuring out how to market the local produce to other areas. It’s a lot of legwork, often involving travel to nearby villages. We aren't a big corporation with shiny brochures. Most of our work is done through face-to-face conversations and old-fashioned record-keeping. The weather here can be quite intense, especially during the rains, which sometimes makes travel difficult, but we stick to it. Ambedkar Chowk is always busy with people and local transport, so there’s never a dull moment outside our door. We’re just a small group trying to make a go of it in Gadchiroli. It’s practical work and we take it one day at a time. We don’t have any fancy mission statements; we just show up and do what needs to be done for the projects.
