Working in Sector 17 is always interesting because there is always something going on outside. Our place is tucked away, and you have to know where you are going to find it. Inside, it’s a different world from the shopping streets. We spend a lot of time setting up the sound system and making sure the lights are working properly before the evening starts. It gets very loud once the music kicks in, and the bass vibrates through the floorboards. I’m usually checking the stock behind the bar or making sure the seating area is tidy. It’s not a fancy corporate lounge; it’s more of a place where you can just hang out and forget about the day. We have some regulars who come in every weekend, and then there are the people just passing through Chandigarh. The cleaning takes up a lot of our time, especially late at night when the music stops and everyone leaves. We have to wipe down the tables and clear away the glasses so it’s ready for the next day. Sometimes the air conditioning struggles when the room is full of people, but we do our best to keep it cool. It’s a lot of late nights and tired feet, but seeing people having a good time makes it worth the effort. We just try to keep the atmosphere right for whoever walks through the door. The entrance door handle is a bit loose lately.
