Jotson Espresso Corporation is tucked away in the basement of S.C.O. 13/14/15 in Sector-34/A. It’s the same building where the Domino's is, so if you can find the pizza place, you can find us. Being in a basement has its ups and downs. It stays cooler than the street level during those hot Chandigarh summers, which is nice, but you do miss out on seeing the sunlight. You can always hear the people walking on the pavement above or the delivery bikes pulling up for the shops upstairs. The smell of baking bread from Domino’s usually drifts down the stairs around lunchtime, making everyone hungry. Inside, we have espresso machines and parts scattered around on various workbenches. It isn't a showroom meant for browsing; it’s more of a workshop where things get fixed and tested. There are wires and tools everywhere, and the lights are those long fluorescent tubes that hum a little bit if you listen closely. We’ve got a small kettle in the corner for our own drinks, though ironically we deal with high-end coffee stuff all day. It’s a bit cramped with all the crates and boxes stacked up against the concrete walls, but we know where everything is. It’s just a regular basement workspace where we spend our hours getting the machinery sorted out. No frills, just a lot of work and the sound of the city humming above our heads.
