V T C Transport Pvt Ltd is situated right in Mohali, directly across from the railway goods shed. It is a loud spot, with trucks coming and going and the sound of the trains being loaded all day. We like it that way because it means there is plenty of movement. Our office is a simple setup meant for logistics and keeping track of where everything is supposed to be. There is always dust in the air from the road, and the floor needs sweeping more often than we actually get to it. We spend most of our time on the phone or talking to drivers who are stopping in for their paperwork. It isn't a place for suits or polished shoes. We wear boots and clothes that can get a bit dirty. The coffee here is strong and usually comes from a thermos because we do not have a kitchen area. We have been operating out of this Mohali location for years and have seen the goods shed change quite a bit. It is a practical business. We deal with schedules, loads, and mechanical issues as they pop up. Sometimes a truck breaks down and throws the whole day off, but we just figure it out. It is hard work and the hours are often long. We do not spend money on advertising or fancy office layouts. We just focus on the transport side of things from our spot by the tracks.
