Uvie's Strawberries

Uvie's Strawberries is run out of 1597 Sector 33-D. We aren't a massive farm with hundreds of acres. It’s more of a local, smaller operation. We spend a lot of time worrying about the weather and how the fruit is doing. Strawberries are finicky things, so there’s always something to do. Our place is simple. We don't have a storefront with neon signs. Usually, it’s just us handling the orders and making sure the berries are packed right so they don't get squashed. We started this because we liked the idea of having fresh fruit right here. It’s a lot of bending over and checking plants, which can be hard on the back. The neighborhood is quiet, which is nice. We don't have a big team or a fleet of trucks. It’s mostly just family and a couple of helpers when things get busy during harvest time. We don't use a lot of fancy words to describe what we do. We just grow strawberries and sell them to people who want them. Sometimes they are smaller than we’d like, or the birds get to them first, but that’s just how it goes with nature. We don't have a glossy brochure. If you want to know about our berries, you just have to try them when they're in season. It’s a lot of work for a short window, but we like the process. It keeps us outdoors and active most of the year.
