Sai Bags

Sai Bags is located in the Janta Rehri Market in Manimajra, specifically at stalls 627 and 646. If you’ve ever been to Janta Rehri, you know it’s a crowded, lively place filled with all sorts of things. It’s not like shopping in a mall with air conditioning. It’s a market with real noise, smells, and lots of people pushing past each other. I run these two stalls, and they are usually packed with all sorts of bags. School bags for the kids, travel bags for trips, and small pouches for keeping change—they are all hanging from the metal frames or stacked on the ground. When it rains, we have to hurry to pull the heavy plastic sheets over everything to keep the stock dry. It’s hard work being out in the market all day, but I like the energy of Manimajra and the people here. I’ve known the other sellers in the market for years. We look out for each other and share tea when it’s slow. Customers come to us because they want something sturdy that will last. I don't give them a big sales pitch or use fancy language; I just show them the zippers and the thickness of the fabric. Sometimes the market gets so loud I have to shout a bit just to be heard over the crowd. My hands are usually a bit dirty from handling the stock and the dusty metal poles, but that’s just part of the job. It’s a basic setup in a busy market.
