Ansari Headloon

Ansari Headloon is tucked away in Manimajra, over in the Fateganj area at number 60. It’s an old place and we’ve been working out of this same spot for years. The building isn't much to look at, just a sturdy workshop with enough space for the looms and the stock we keep on hand. Most people stumble upon us by accident or because someone told them we were back here. We mostly deal with traditional weaving work. It’s noisy when the machines are going, and there is always lint or thread bits on the floor no matter how much we sweep. My family has been doing this kind of work for a long time, so it just felt natural to keep it going here in Fateganj. We don't really do much advertising or have a big storefront with lights. Usually, I'm just in the back checking the tension on the threads or talking to the guys who bring us the raw materials. The lighting isn't the best inside, but we know where everything is. It's a lot of manual work and my hands are usually pretty tired by the end of the day. We don't have a fancy office or anything. If you come by, you’ll probably see me sitting on a plastic chair near the entrance. We just keep our heads down and get the work done.
