Our place is over at 409 in Industrial Area Phase II. It’s an industrial spot, so it’s usually noisy with the sound of machines running and trucks backing in and out. We deal with plastic molding and injection stuff, which basically means we spend our shifts looking at molds and making sure the plastic is heating up right. The floor is concrete and usually has a few scuffs from the heavy equipment we move around. It isn't a fancy office by any means. There’s a lot of heat coming off the presses, so we keep the fans going as much as we can, especially during the summer months. My desk is usually covered in some paperwork and maybe a few sample parts that didn't come out quite right. We have a small team here, and everyone knows what they need to do to keep the production moving along. Sometimes a machine breaks down or a mold gets stuck, and then we all have to stop and figure it out together. It can be frustrating, but that is just the nature of manufacturing work. We don’t really do much advertising or anything. Most of the people who come here are looking for specific parts or have been working with us for years. We just show up, start the machines, and get through the orders we have on the books for that week.
