Working out of Sector 42B in Chandigarh is quite nice because of all the trees and the wide roads. Gaurav Gupta runs things here from 1257. It’s more of a home-office setup than a skyscraper suite. You walk through the sector streets and it’s mostly residential, so it stays pretty quiet during the day. Inside, the rooms are converted into workspaces with desks and shelves for all the consulting files. We don’t have any flashy signs out front. Most of the work is done over the phone or on the laptop, sitting at a desk that has probably seen better days. Chandigarh is a very organized city, and we try to keep our files the same way. There is a lot of talking to clients and trying to figure out the best way to handle their problems. Sometimes we have to go out and visit sites, but a lot of the heavy lifting happens right here in the sector. We have a small garden area where we take our breaks and maybe have some tea when the weather is pleasant. It’s an honest way to work without all the overhead of a fancy downtown building. We just take it one project at a time. It's a simple life, focused on the details of the concepts we are working on for our clients. There are no fancy presentations, just hard work and a lot of thinking.
