Prof Shashi Malhotra

Out here in Sector 23, things stay pretty quiet most of the time, which is exactly how I like it. My name is Prof Shashi Malhotra and I spend most of my days at 3489. It is a simple setup, really. Just a room with a decent desk and some shelves that are starting to sag under the weight of all the journals and textbooks I've collected. I’ve lived and worked around here for years, so the walls have seen a lot of different projects come and go. I don't have a staff or a receptionist out front. If the phone rings, I’m the one picking it up and checking the schedule. It’s a straightforward way to live and work without any unnecessary complications. Sometimes the garden outside needs weeding, and I’ll take a quick break to do that when the sun isn't too hot. The house number 3489 is easy enough to spot from the road once you get into the sector. I don't use much technology besides the basics, as I still prefer writing things out by hand on a yellow legal pad first. The light in the afternoons is the best part of this office. It comes through the side window and hits the floor just right. There isn't any big story about why I'm here. It’s just about getting the work done one day at a time and talking to people who stop by with questions.
