Paradise Green

Our spot is out on the Kharar Landran Road in Mohali. If you are driving towards the Swaraj Combine Division or the petrol pump, you will see us. We have a lot of space here because plants take up a lot of room. Most of our day is spent watering things, moving pots around, and dealing with a lot of mud. It’s not the cleanest job, but it is nice to be outside even when the Mohali sun is beating down. We serve folks in Sas Nagar and we also head over to Chandigarh quite a bit. People come by looking for something to put in their garden or maybe some grass for a patch of dirt in front of their house. We don’t have a fancy air-conditioned office. We usually just talk to customers while walking through the rows of green stuff. The road noise from Landran Road is pretty constant, but you stop noticing it after an hour. We try to keep the plants healthy, though some of them are stubborn depending on the season. It’s a basic business of growing things and selling them. We aren't experts with degrees; we just know what grows well in this Punjab soil and what doesn't. If a plant looks a bit wilted, we tell you. We’d rather you know what you’re getting. It’s a lot of work but it beats sitting behind a desk all day and staring at a screen.
