Manimaira Taxi Stand

Our taxi stand is located in Manimajra Nac on the Kalka Road. We are right near Arya Hospital, which is the main thing people look for when they’re trying to find our drivers. It’s just a spot where we park the cars and wait for the phone to ring or for someone to walk up and ask for a ride. It’s a lot of waiting around sometimes, especially during the slow hours in the middle of the day. The drivers sit around, have some tea, and talk while they wait for their turn. Kalka Road is always busy with traffic going toward the hills or into the city, so there is always something to look at. We operate at all hours, so there is usually someone here even late at night. The cars need a lot of cleaning because of the dust on the roads, so you'll often see someone with a cloth wiping down a windshield. We don't have a big fancy waiting room or anything like that. It’s just a basic taxi stand where we try to get people where they need to go. We know the routes around here really well and we’ve been serving this area for years. It’s a simple life on the road. We deal with all sorts of passengers, from people going to the hospital to tourists heading out of town. We keep a small logbook in the booth to track the trips.
