Being right off the highway makes it easy for the big trucks to get in and out, which is pretty much essential for what we do. Steel is heavy and messy, so our yard is always full of stacks and piles of metal. It’s a loud place, especially when the loaders are moving stuff around. We spend most of our time outside or in the open sheds, no matter if it’s hot or raining. It’s a lot of physical labor, and the guys here are used to the grind. We don't have a polished corporate image or a marketing department. We just deal in steel and make sure the weights are right. The office is just a small room where we keep the scales and the ledgers. It’s usually covered in a bit of grit from the road. Working near the Mumbai Bangalore Bypass means we see a lot of traffic passing by, but we stay focused on our own yard.
