Singh Fabrication

The shop is at No. 100 Sector 45. It’s a basic setup for Singh Fabrication. We have the welding machines, the grinders, and a lot of heavy iron rods. The floor is concrete and usually has some metal scraps lying around. It gets really bright when we’re welding, so we wear the masks all day. Sector 45 is a decent area, but our shop is definitely for work, not for looks. We do a lot of cutting and joining. You can hear the metal clanging from down the street. It’s hot work, especially in the summer months when the sun hits the metal roof. We usually have the radio playing to keep us company. Customers drop by Shop No. 100 with sketches or just an idea of what they need. We don't have a fancy office to sit in. We just talk right there on the shop floor. Sometimes we have to go out to install things at different houses or buildings. Loading the truck is a job in itself because everything is so heavy. We’ve got a small corner for our tools, and we try to keep them organized, but it’s a constant battle. It’s a straightforward business. We take the raw metal and turn it into whatever is needed. No bells or whistles, just the smell of burnt metal and a lot of hard work.
