Luthra & Sons Handloom Shope

The shop here at Sector 20 Shivaji Road has been in the family for quite some time now. Luthra & Sons Handloom Shope is right near the Gujari Handicraft area which usually stays pretty busy with people walking by. We have piles of handloom fabrics that go from the floor almost up to the ceiling in some parts of the store. It is a bit crowded inside because we like to keep a lot of variety on hand for anyone who stops in. My father started this and now we just keep it going every day. You can find all sorts of traditional weaves and patterns if you have the time to look through the stacks. We don’t really do much advertising because most people find us just by walking down Shivaji Road or hearing about us from their neighbors. The lighting in the back is a little dim but we know exactly where every roll of cloth is tucked away. Sometimes it takes a minute to find the right color someone is looking for but we usually get there. It is a simple way of doing business and we like the direct connection with the people who come in. We open early in the morning and stay until the street gets quiet at night. There is always some tea brewing in the back for when a regular customer drops by to chat while they browse through the new arrivals we just put out.
