Karam Singh Gill

My name is Karam Singh Gill and I’ve been operating from house 832 in Mohali for a long time. It’s a quiet residential area compared to the main city, but we still keep plenty busy with our daily tasks. My office is basically a room I converted so I could work closer to home and my family. It’s not a big corporate setup with a receptionist or anything like that. If you call, you’re usually going to talk to me directly on the phone. I like it that way because things don't get lost in translation. My family is often in the other room, so you might hear a bit of noise in the background like the TV or kids playing. Mohali has grown so much since I first started out here many years ago. There used to be a lot more open space, but now there are houses everywhere you look. I mostly work with people I’ve known for years. They know where 832 is and they just drop by when they have something to discuss. I keep a simple desk and a computer that’s a few years old now. It gets the job done for me. I don't see the point in having all the latest gadgets if the old ones still work fine. My neighbors are good people and we all help each other out. It’s a decent way to live, being your own boss in your own neighborhood. We don't have any big signs out front. People just know the house.
