Kamal Bartan Shop

If you’re walking around Sector 36, specifically in Balaji Nagar at number 7, you’ll probably hear us before you see us. Kamal Bartan Shop is full of metal—pots, pans, tiffins, and everything else you’d need for a kitchen. It’s a small shop but we pack a lot into it. There are stacks of stainless steel plates reaching almost to the ceiling and boxes of spoons everywhere. It’s a bit of a maze if you don’t know where you’re going. We spend most of the day dusting off the shelves because metal seems to attract dust like a magnet. People come in looking for a specific size of cooker or maybe just a new frying pan because their old one finally gave out. We don't have any fancy displays or bright lights. It’s just the stuff on the shelves and us behind the small counter. Sometimes we have to climb a ladder to get something from the top shelf, which is always an adventure. The floor is concrete and it’s usually covered in shadows because of how we stack the inventory. It’s a local place, nothing more. We’ve known some of the neighbors for years and they just drop by to say hello. It gets busy during the festivals when everyone wants new kitchenware for their homes, but otherwise, it’s just a steady flow of folks from the area. We just sell tools for cooking.
