Indian Army

This is HQ 37 Inf Bde. We use the Pin 908037 and the usual C O 56 APO address for everything. If you know how the Indian Army works, you know these APO addresses are basically our lifeline. It’s not like having a regular house number on a city street. Things here are run by the book. It’s a bit out of the way, which is common for a brigade headquarters. We don't see many outsiders. Life is pretty much defined by the schedule. We wake up early, get the work done, and wait for the mail. The APO system is great because it keeps us connected no matter where we are posted. It’s a lot of paperwork and making sure the units under us have what they need. We aren't here to look pretty or impress anyone. The walls are plain, the furniture is sturdy, and everything has a place. It’s a very functional way to live and work. Sometimes it gets a bit lonely being tucked away, but the guys here are like family. We’ve seen all kinds of weather. You learn to appreciate the small things, like a good meal or a quiet evening. It’s just us and the routine. We don't need much else to keep things running smoothly. The discipline keeps us together when things get busy. It’s a life that not everyone understands, but we like the simplicity of it.
