If you know where the Punjab University lights are in Chandigarh, then you basically know where we are. We are right opposite those lights in Sector 15D. Our place is on the second floor of SCF-4. It’s a busy intersection, so there is always a lot of honking and traffic going by, but inside it’s mostly just us working on English skills. The stairs up here are a bit steep, so take your time. We spend our days going over listening tapes and reading through essays. It’s a lot of repetitive work but that is how you learn a language. We don't have any flashy posters or expensive decor. It’s mostly just stacks of practice papers and some old dictionaries. Being so close to the university is great because there is always a good energy in the air. Students are always rushing around. We see a lot of young people who are trying to move abroad or get into a better school. We don't make any big promises, we just sit down and go through the lessons one by one. Sometimes the power goes out and we just open the windows and keep talking. It’s a very normal, local setup. We take our tea breaks when we can and try to keep the mood light because learning for exams can be pretty boring. We just do our best to explain the rules of the language to whoever walks in for a lesson.
