Gulati Design Associates

Our office at Sector 19 Coles Road in Frazer Town is usually filled with the sound of pencils scratching or keyboards clicking. Gulati Design Associates isn't a huge firm with hundreds of employees. It’s just us here at 399, trying to make sense of the sketches and plans on our desks. Frazer Town has changed a lot over the years, but our little corner remains pretty much the same. We have rolls of blueprints leaning against the walls and coffee cups everywhere. It’s not the tidiest place, but we know where everything is. We spend a lot of time arguing over small details because that’s just how we work. It’s not about being perfect, it’s about making things work for the people who live around here. We walk down to the local shops for lunch and talk to the regulars. Sometimes clients come in and we end up talking about the weather for twenty minutes before getting to the actual work. It feels more natural that way. We don't like using complicated software if a quick hand drawing explains it better. Our windows look out onto the trees on Coles Road, which is nice when the sun hits them. We’ve been through many seasons here. The roof leaked once, we fixed it ourselves, and we just keep going. It’s a living, breathing workspace, not some sterile corporate office.
