Ganpati Crockery

Ganpati Crockery is our shop in Manimajra at 231. We have shelves and shelves of plates, bowls, and glasses. You have to be very careful walking around in here because one wrong move and something might break. We spend a lot of our time wrapping things in old newspapers or bubble wrap so they don't get chipped. It’s a bit of a maze with all the boxes stacked up in the aisles. We get all kinds of people coming in, some looking for a single mug and others buying a whole set for a wedding gift. Manimajra is a lively area and our shop at 231 is right in the middle of it all. We have been here for years, and most of the other shopkeepers around us are our friends. We don't have a computer system for everything; we still write down a lot of stuff in a big ledger book. It works for us. Sometimes the dust gets on the top shelves, so we have to spend our slow afternoons cleaning everything with a cloth. It is a lot of work to keep things looking decent, but we take pride in what we have on the shelves. It’s just a local crockery store where we try to keep things simple and honest.
