Empress Clothing Private Limited

Empress Clothing Private Limited is run out of House No. 725 in Sector 40-A, Chandigarh. It is a residential area, so it feels very different from a factory or a downtown shop. We have converted part of the house to handle the clothing business. You will see sewing machines in one room and stacks of finished garments in another. It is a real family-style operation. We don't have a big sign outside, just the house number. The neighbors are used to seeing the delivery vans coming by now and then. Inside, the atmosphere is pretty relaxed but we still have plenty to do. There is always the sound of someone cutting fabric or the steam iron hissing. We handle everything ourselves, from the first stitch to the final packing. It is a bit crowded with all the material lying around, and sometimes you have to step over boxes to get to the kitchen. Living and working in the same place in Sector 40-A means we are always around the business. It is a lot of work, but it is practical and it saves us from having to commute. We focus on getting the clothes made right and then getting them sent out to whoever ordered them. It is a simple life centered around the house and the garments we make. Every day we just manage the piles of cloth and keep the machines running as much as we can.
