Our place is situated at 456 in Sector 7-C of Chandigarh. We have been running De-Or Metal Industries from this spot for quite a long time now. It is a metal fabrication shop, so it is exactly what you would expect. There is plenty of noise, the smell of burnt metal, and stacks of raw materials waiting to be turned into something useful. Chandigarh is a very planned city, but our workshop has a life of its own with tools and parts scattered across the workbenches. We work with all kinds of metal, doing everything from cutting and bending to welding and finishing. It is a small operation, and most of us have been working here together for years. We do not have a fancy office or a receptionist to greet people at the door. If you come by, you will likely find us out on the floor with our masks on, busy with a project. We do not spend much time worrying about how we look to the outside world. We just care about the quality of the metalwork we produce. We deal with a lot of local contractors and small businesses who need custom parts made. It is hard, physical work that leaves you tired at the end of the day, but there is a certain satisfaction in seeing a finished piece of metal leave the shop. We just keep our heads down and do the work.
