Commonwealth Youth Programme Asia Centre

Our center is located in Mohali, Punjab, specifically at 4537 Block J in Darshan Vihar, Sector 68. We’ve been here for a while, working on things related to the Commonwealth Youth Programme. It’s an office that sees a lot of different people coming through. We have meetings and organize things for younger people in the region. The building is part of a residential and commercial mix, so it feels quite grounded. We don’t have a massive budget for fancy furniture, so we use what we have. There are posters on the walls from past events and stacks of pamphlets on the tables. It gets busy during certain times of the year when there’s a big project going on. Most of us who work here are just regular people who care about what we’re doing. We aren't trying to impress anyone with corporate jargon. We just want to make sure the programmes run properly. The tea breaks are when we get most of our talking done. Mohali is a nice place to be based, especially this sector. It’s easy for people to find us. We keep our doors open and try to stay organized, even if it feels a bit chaotic sometimes with all the paperwork. It gets a bit cold in the winters here in Punjab, so we all have our favorite sweaters draped over the back of our chairs.
