Chawla Transport & Travel

Our place is in the Modern Complex in Mani Majra, specifically at 5265/2. We are pretty close to the main market in MHC, so there is always something going on nearby. Most people in the neighborhood know where we are. We focus on transport and travel, which basically means we spend our day looking at maps and talking to drivers. It’s not a very glamorous job. We have a small office where we keep all our logs and paperwork. Mani Majra is a busy part of Chandigarh, and being near the market means it’s easy for people to drop by while they are out doing their shopping. We started this because we knew the roads well. It’s just a few of us working here. We don’t wear suits or anything. Usually, I’m just in my regular clothes sitting behind the desk. Sometimes the phone rings off the hook and other times we just sit and drink chai while waiting for the next booking. We handle a lot of local transport requests. It gets dusty in the summer with the windows open, but we like being part of the local community here. We’ve seen the complex change over the years. It’s a practical business. We don't have any big slogans or anything like that. We just try to keep the vehicles running and make sure people get their tickets on time. It’s straightforward work for us every day, and we wouldn't have it any other way.
