Chawla Steel Industries

If you head down to the Industrial Area, Phase 1, you will find Chawla Steel Industries at Plot No. 20 Mw on Tribune Road. It’s an area that’s always full of trucks and the sound of heavy machinery. Being in the steel business, our place isn’t exactly quiet or clean, but it’s where the work happens. We have a lot of raw materials coming in and finished pieces going out all day long. The yard can get a bit cluttered when a big delivery arrives, but we try to keep a path clear. The staff here are used to the grease and the heavy lifting. We’ve been on Tribune Road for a while, and we know most of the other shop owners around this part of Phase 1. It’s a hardworking neighborhood. We don’t have a fancy showroom or anything like that. If you come by, you’ll probably see us in our work clothes dealing with the inventory. The weather gets pretty hot in the summer, especially with all the metal around, but we just keep the fans going and get on with it. It’s straightforward work. We don’t use a lot of big words to describe what we do; we just handle the steel and make sure the orders are ready when they should be. It’s a tough job sometimes, but we take it one day at a time. The coffee in the breakroom isn't great, but it gets us through the afternoon shift.
