Cafe Coffee Day

You can find this Cafe Coffee Day up on the first floor of S.C.O 312 in Sector-38 D. It’s a typical Chandigarh setup with the shopping clusters. Being on the first floor means you have to walk up the stairs, which keeps it a bit quieter than the ground level shops. We look out over the parking and the trees. Sector-38 is a nice area, fairly organized as you’d expect around here. We spend a lot of our shift just organizing the seating. People like to move the chairs to the windows. We don't mind. The floor is easy to sweep, which is good because people bring in a lot of leaves during the autumn. It’s a bright space during the day. We have the usual stuff you’d find in any of these shops. Nothing fancy. Just a place to sit. Sometimes the plumbing acts up but that’s just part of being in an older S.C.O. building. We get a lot of families on the weekends and office workers during the week. It’s a good mix. We stay busy enough to keep the days moving fast. By the time we close up, we’re usually pretty tired. It’s just a regular job in a regular part of town. We do our best to keep it clean for the next morning. It’s not about being perfect, just about being open and ready for the next person who comes up those stairs looking for a break.
