We are located in Mandi, right on Jail Road. The office is part of the H P Pwd Sub Division area. It's where Sh P R Chechi, the Assistant Engineer for Mechanical works, has his spot. We've been helping folks with immigration things from this little corner of Himachal Pradesh. It gets quite cold here in the winters but we keep the heaters going. People from around the district come to us when they want to move abroad or get their papers sorted. It’s a lot of forms and checking documents over and over. We don't have a big fancy lobby. Just some chairs for people to wait and a couple of desks with computers that sometimes run slow. Jail Road is easy to find if you know the town. We’ve been at this for a bit now. Our days are mostly spent explaining rules and filling out applications for visas. Sometimes we have to wait on the mail or for the internet to behave. It’s just us here, making sure the paperwork is right so people don't have trouble later on. Mandi is a good place to work from. We know most of the people who walk through the door. It’s simple work but it keeps us busy from morning till evening. We just do our bit to help people get where they need to go. It feels good to see someone finally get their visa.
