Bikash Dimond Gold Smith is over in the Sector 17 GIDC Estate. We are located at units 117 and 119. If you know the GIDC area, you know it’s mostly workshops and small factories. That’s exactly what we have here. It’s a place where we work with gold and diamonds, so there is a lot of focus on the craft. The workshop is usually filled with the sound of small tools and the heat from the workspace. It’s not a shiny jewelry store you’d see in a mall. It’s a real workshop where the actual making happens. We’ve been in these units for quite some time now. The estate is a bit dusty and loud because of all the other businesses nearby, but inside our doors, we keep things as precise as we can. We have benches set up for the smiths and a small area where we keep the materials safe. It’s a very hands-on job. There aren’t any fancy carpets or soft lighting here. We need good bright light to see what we are doing with the small pieces of gold. Most of our day is spent hunched over a workbench. People who know us come directly to Sector 17 when they need something made or repaired. We don't do much advertising; the work speaks for itself among the people who find their way to 117-119. It’s a hard-working atmosphere and that’s just how we like it.
