Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited

Our little spot for Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited is located near the CIA Staff in VPO Handiaya, within the Barnala district. It’s not a big city office, but it’s an important one for the folks living out here in rural Punjab. Sunita Mahant is the one you’d usually look for here. It’s a quiet area compared to the big hubs, surrounded by the usual village life and open spaces. We don’t have a lot of staff, so everyone knows everyone else’s business. We mostly look after the local connections and help the villagers when their phones or internet stop working. Sometimes the weather out here makes the job a bit tough, especially during the harvest season when there’s dust everywhere. The office itself is simple, just some chairs and the necessary equipment to keep the signals going. We get people walking in from the nearby farms, often just looking for help with their mobile plans or a bill they don’t understand. It’s a very direct way of working. There are no fancy meetings here, just plain talk and trying to get things fixed. We take pride in being the link for this community to the rest of the country. It’s a slow pace of life in Handiaya, and our office reflects that. We just do our bit every day to make sure the village stays connected, no matter what happens with the weather or the power.
