Arushi Tuition Centre

This is basically a home-based setup at 3131 in Sector 44D. We’ve been here for a long time. It started out with just a few neighbors' kids coming over in the evenings. Now we have a proper routine. It’s not a big school or a fancy institute with shiny posters. It’s just a house where we’ve set aside some space for teaching. You’ll probably hear the usual sounds of the neighborhood while we work. We focus on the local school syllabus because that’s what the kids need help with most. Sometimes we have to move chairs around to fit everyone in if a few extra students show up. It’s pretty informal. We tell the kids to bring their own notebooks and whatever they’re struggling with that day. If someone is stuck on a math problem, we spend the time needed to fix it. We don’t have a big staff, it’s mostly just us. People in Chandigarh know us by word of mouth mostly. We don’t really do any advertising. We figure if the kids do well, their parents will tell other parents. That’s how it has always worked for us. It’s a bit crowded sometimes, but we make it work. We’re just regular people trying to make sure the kids in Sector 44 get their studies right. It’s simple, honest work and we enjoy seeing the kids finally get it after trying hard for a while. We hope to stay here for many more years as part of the neighborhood.
