Over here in Zirakpur, Ankur Communication is just a small shop on a street that never seems to stop being busy. The traffic outside is constant and there’s always a layer of dust on the front window that I have to clean often. Inside, it’s mostly just glass counters and shelves filled with all the little things people need for their phones. I’ve been sitting behind this counter for a long time watching the town grow and change around us. It’s mostly just me here, though sometimes I have a friend stop by to help when it gets crowded. We get people coming in for all sorts of small issues like broken chargers or buttons that don't work anymore. The air conditioner is a bit old and makes a rattling sound when it’s on the high setting. I keep a small notebook where I write down what people are looking for. It’s not a big corporate store, just a place where you can actually talk to the person fixing your stuff. The evenings are the busiest because everyone is coming home from work and realizes they need something for their device. I usually keep the door open to let some air in unless the road noise gets too loud. It’s a simple setup with a few stools for people to sit on while they wait. Zirakpur has changed a lot since we started but the shop has stayed pretty much the same. We just take it one day at a time and handle whatever walk-ins come our way.
